About Us

Jobstopper has existed in Cairns since the end of Janruary 2010. With influences such as Reel Big Fish and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Jobstopper mixes a combination of punk, reggae, rock and ska to create a unique sound. The sound is accompanied often, with lyrics of a controversial nature, referencing marijuana laws, religion, broken down social scenes, global warming and racism. Since the beginning the boys have traveled from Cairns to the likes of Atherton, Palm Creek, Townsville and even Sydney. Jobstopper has also played alongside acts such as, Zennith, Nick Skitz, Pez & 360 and The Beautiful Girls as well as coming runners up in Cairns 2010 TimeOut Battle Of The Bands.

In November 2010 Jobstopper reached number 1 in the 'Punk' section of Triple J Unearthed, staying strong there for two weeks with their song 'The Bommadore' which soon after received air play on Triple J's Short.Fast.Loud with Stu Harvey.
They also peaked at 32 on the overall charts.

Jobstopper is releasing their very first E.P on the 26th of March at The Courthouse Hotel from 4:30 until 9:30 with a bill of six bands. The E.P is titled 'These Ones' and has five of their best songs.
The CD is being mastered by American Sound Engineer Michael Hateley at Gourmet Sound, famous for mastering bands such as NOFX, Bad Religion and Green Day.
